    • No, but I will start posting weekly updates. If I learn more I will post the info. Also please check USTA.com for updates.

  1. Carolyn, for the last 4 to 5 years I’ve enjoyed keeping abreast of all the tennis tournaments and schedules on your site. We are very lucky to have such a site! Thanks for all your efforts! Wilbur Jones

  2. With the Covid requirements, and other aggravations that will eliminate the previous years ambience, I am rescheduling the May 10 (or 3rd )dates to Sept 13 – 18 in the hope we can get all the socialization that our age group has come to enjoy. Ned Buckman TD

  3. Carolyn, a friend here in Sarasota is trying to reach an old acquaintance of his – Larry Sears.
do you know where I could find contact info for him? Laurie Covert

    • I have that information from the USIC. Can you email me, my email hasn’t changed.

  4. Carolyn, Many thanks for keeping all the seniors up to date on the tennis tournaments. You seem to be the most reliable source and we certainly appreciate all the info you put out.
    Willie Wolff

  5. So cool to see all those familiar names. Thanks for compiling this! I remember getting to cover a tournament you played at the Williamsburg Inn. You were a runner-up that week, I think. Dodo was in it, too.

  6. Carolyn, any idea if the men’s 65s will be played at Seabright in Rumson, NJ this September?

    • There’s still no link on the new USTA play tennis website. I’ll see what I can find out.

    • It was played 9/3-/10/21. David Robbins Tien won the singles. Tim Garcia and Jeff Winkler won the doubles.

      • Thanks David. Congrats on your victory. I have been wanting to play this for a while now (I am 69 so you do the math), but each year some conflict comes up and I ultimately cannot do it. This year looked good for a while, but then I couldn’t find the link from USTA anywhere to sign up – so I wrote to Carolyn above. Eventually, I located the link but, by then, a severe work conflict prevented me from entering – again. I have a special fondness for Seabright because I grew up not far from there and Seabright was the first time I played on grass, in my teens. Oh well. Maybe next year.

      • Marty, sorry about the late posting…my dad was really sick about the time that the USTA finally released the link so I was late posting some links. There was a month or so I was not able to post much. (He’s better now.)

      • No worries, Carolyn. The real problem was the USTA’s switch to an incomprehensible new system for tournament play. I know many others have complained about it as well. Nobody can find references to tournaments they used to play. Some of them have been cancelled due to COVID, but the ones that have been still running cannot be located for information or sigh up. I wish they would bring back TennsLink – as bad as it was, it is better than now. I am glad to hear that your dad is better. That rightly should have come before everything else.

  7. Hi Carolyn – my name is George G And my desire has always been to compete for a gold ball in my age group due to many factors I have never been able to make a commitment to that however at this point in my life I am ready to make a commitment to that any information on any links anything you can share with me to help get “on the ball” so to speak I would appreciate—I am currently 64 years old as of July 10 I would like to compete in the 60s in the 55s—- TY

I am just starting out in this process and still feel very uncertain as to where to find things and how to go about this —-I am a USTA member & have been for a long time—Was frustrated trying to find these types of tournaments on that site until a friend of mine said that there’s a whole separate senior circuit out there still a bit confused any help would be appreciated thank you Carolyn George G

    • George, good questions. There are 3 gold ball tournaments a year in the 60s, hard, clay and grass…it’s a bit late for the hard and grass, but the clay courts have not been held. The level is quite high (you are looking at Level 1 tournaments), but anyone is welcome to play gold ball events. There are also quite a few Level 2 & Level 3 tournaments too. They don’t give out gold balls but have a high level of competition. Any USTA member can enter these events as well. There’s a National Men’s Senior Tennis Assn (NMSTA.org) too. If you look at the schedules on my sites you will see schedules for Level 1, 2 & 3 tournaments. You don’t say where you live or how much you are willing to travel. The events are held all over the country. The lower level events, 4-7 are more regional/local. Some sections do not offer senior events. There are also some NTRP senior events (not gold ball events though). I hope this helps and am happy to answer follow up questions…
