The USA Men’s and Women’s 45s Masters Tennis Teams are participating in the ITF World Team Championships in Tokyo Japan this week. Japan is 10 hours ahead of EST for those whoa are curious.
The women’s team, headed by captain Julie Thu are seeded #4 and are in Group D of the round robin. The men’s team, headed by captain W Bratek are seeded #7 and are in Group G of the round robin.
The teams will play in a round robin (four teams for the men, three for the women) Sunday/Monday/Tuesday 9 (November 17-19) in Tokyo, then play the knockout rounds Wednesday-Friday (November 20-22). The following week the Individual World Championships will begin.
Update as of 1030 Eastern standard time: the women are up 2/0 and the men also won both singles.
